Police Blotter: Negligent Auto Theft, North Margin Burglary, Fire Escape Robbery

Burglary / Residential

02/23/17  ~  8:30am – 5:30pm
A North Margin Street resident reports that his apartment was broken into during the day. The victim stated that numerous items were taken from the apartment and the front door had damage to the lock and door frame. Detectives to follow up.

Auto Theft

02/28 – 03/01/17 ~  10:15pm – 12:01am
Victim reports that his 2014 Mazda CX-9 was stolen from Hanover Street, the victim further stated that the vehicle was parked, unattended, doors unlocked, with the remote starter key inside the vehicle when the vehicle was stolen.

Investigate Person

03/01/17  ~  5:40am
A Wiget Street resident reports that she heard her alarm go off when the apartment rear glass door opened. The victim went to investigate and noticed a male suspect standing on the fire escape holding a flashlight. The suspect scurried back down the fire escape and fled.
