Braving this week’s snow storm, the Mexican Tall Ship Cuauhtémoc arrived in Boston Harbor. Docked at Fan Pier, the arrival is the first in a series of introductory visits leading up to Sail Boston 2017.
The training ship Cuauhtémoc is nearly three hundred-foot-long with a three-masted barque. Built in the shipyards of Bilbao, Spain in 1982, she has trained officers of the Mexican Navy for just over three decades. Her visit to Boston will be part of a 289-day journey visiting 12 countries and 15 ports.
The ships visit is a sneak preview to Sail Boston 2017, from June 17 – 22, when more than fifty Tall Ships from around the globe will be in Boston Harbor.
