At the Eliot K-8 Innovation School students have been learning about the power of philanthropy, and the value in giving our time and talents to help show others care and compassion. As a school we came together to practice this mission by participating in our first “Giving Tree Project”.
Students had engaging discussions about ways to help others, and helped decorate, wrap and distribute gifts which made this a true community project. Donations of warm clothing, winter coats, hats, gloves and toys were all collected and donated to help support the greater Boston community through the non-profit organization My Brother’s Keeper and internally within the Eliot community.
We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and generosity especially from our amazing families and our powerful partners at North End Waterfront Health. Together, all of the donations helped to support hundreds of children and families during a very busy and challenging time of the year. Our children were beyond thankful and felt truly loved this holiday season which warms our hearts.
Thank you to everyone that helped make the Giving Tree Project such a success!
The staff at NEW Health are honored to be of assistance to the wonderful education being provided at the Eliot School!
