NEMPAC is pleased to be joining music schools from across the country for Kids Music Day on October 7th, 2016, a nationwide effort to promote the importance of music in the lives of children. Kids Music Day is being organized by Keep Music Alive, an organization dedicated to promoting arts education in schools.
In honor of this celebration, NEMPAC will be hosting an educational workshop on Oct. 7th at the North End Public Library from 3:30-5:00 p.m. This program is designed for children in grades Kindergarten and up, but younger children are invited to attend with parental supervision. This program is free, open to the public and is drop-in (no pre-registration required).
The class will feature our guest teaching artist David Stevens, who will be using the theme of Italian Heritage Month to lead the workshop with the topic: Rhythm! Activities will include musical crafts, plenty of rhythm games, and an instrument petting zoo. Come help us celebrate the wonderful impact that music can have on young children!
