Residents’ Association (NEWRA) Celebrates at Summer Party [Photos]

The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) hosted its annual Summer Party on August 18th at the Pilot House. NEWRA members, local residents and public officials mingled while enjoying the scenic North End waterfront.

NEWRA President Ford Cavallari highlighted the group’s accomplishments with supportive remarks from local officials including District 1 City Councilor Sal LaMattina, At-Large councilors Ayanna Pressley and Annissa Essaibi-George, State Senator Joe Boncore and State Representative Aaron Michlewitz. Members from other local groups attended including the Michael Nichols, Chief of Staff at the Greenway Conservancy, members of Friends of Christopher Columbus Park, and the North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council. Your editor, Matt Conti, was also humbled by a surprise recognition from NEWRA executives and Boston City Councilors.

NEWRA Past President Jim Salini led the committee to organize the event along with several other members. Crosstown Music provided live entertainment with several local businesses chipping in to provide food, beverages and cleanup help including V. Cirace & Son, Inc., Cobblestone Cafe and Hordon Health.
