Endicott Street’s Sheila Petrigno Moretti Presented Good Neighbor Award

Sheila Petrigno Moretti was recently presented with the Good Neighbor Recognition Award for her efforts in cleaning around her Endicott Street property. The award was presented by President Ford Cavallari and Recognition Committee Chair Janet Gilardi on behalf of the North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA). Sheila said,

When I was young my Grandmother and Mother would wash the front steps and sweep the sidewalk in front of where they lived. I’ve been doing it ever since. They took pride in the cleanliness of the property and so do I. You don’t see much of that any more, but there are some who still take pride in doing this. The only thing that gets me upset is the cigarette butts that end up in the grooves of the sidewalk. I make it a clean sweep! Thank You for this Award~~~it means a lot to me and those who went before me !!

The monthly Good Neighbor award is voted by NEWRA’s Executive Committee and presented to local businesses, organizations and property owners that contribute to making our neighborhood beautiful and consistently keep the areas around their property clean of trash.
