On Wednesday, June 29th, Gianna Passacantilli Mullane, wife of Neal Mullane, District Chief of Personnel for the Boston Fire Department,was sworn in as Boston Police officer. The ceremony took place at the Agganis Center on the campus of Boston University where 67 candidates of the Boston Police Department Academy Class 55-15 received their police badges after 28 weeks of rigorous physical training and classroom instruction. In recognition of Gianna’s exemplary work ethic during the training, her classmates elected her as President of their class bestowing on her the honor of addressing all in attendance at the ceremony.
Gianna is the mother of 17 month old triplets and the daughter of former North Enders Angela Buccieri and Robert Passacantilli, the granddaughter of North Enders James and Anna ”Tootsie” Buccieri and Al and Josie Passacantilli. Her brother, Robert Jr. proudly serves as a officer on the City of Medford’s Police Department. Gianna has been assigned to District B-3 in Mattapan. Five new recruits recently graduated from the Boston Police Academy are being assigned to District A-1 that includes the North End and Downtown.
