A noise survey is available for Boston residents to fill out at this link, taking about 5 minutes. “Noise and the City” is part of a research project by Erica Walker, Doctoral Candidate at Harvard’s Department of Public Health.
The survey aims to associate health issues with noise exposure, including the temporal nature of noise. It also try as ascertain why community noise is perceived as annoying. Upon the completion of the survey, you may enter a raffle to win a $100 gift card.
Community Sound Portraits by local artist Julio Cesar Roman is part of the project to put a human face on community noise. Interviews and photographs can be found here. If you are interested in being interviewed, apply here.
Results will be made publicly available at www.noiseandthecity.org upon completion of the study.
