BLS Crew Girls Varsity 1st Boat

The Boston Latin School Rowing Program is off to a promising and bright rowing season! Neither rain nor wind got in the way of Boston Latin School girls’ squads defending and bringing back home the Salvo Cup last weekend for a second time in two years.

In an impressive battle of the boats between varsity squads from BLS and Brookline High, three out of the four girls boats won their respective matches by significant time differences over their fierce and well-respected opponents. This year, the BLS boys varsity 8X and 4X joined for the first time in the Salvo’s history against the Brookline High boys’ crew. The BLS boys’ squads held their own in two thrilling matches. The Brookline boys won the tight races with BLS’ boats trailing behind just 2.5, and 4 seconds respectively.

The North End was well represented by Girls Varsity team members Dani Pezzuto (2nd from left in photo) and Maria Fountas (not shown).
