Clinton and Trump Win Boston in Presidential Primaries

In a strong turnout with 39% of registered Boston voters going to the polls on Super Tuesday, Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump topped their respective primary tickets.

With 100% of precincts reporting in the City of Boston, unofficial tally results show 57% of the Democratic primary vote for Hillary Clinton over 41% for Bernie Sanders.

For Republicans, Donald Trump garnered 41% of the GOP primary vote over Marco Rubio at 24%, John Kasich at 23% and Ted Cruz at 8%. Republican ballots totaled 22,336.

At the state level, Massachusetts voters also put Trump and Clinton in the winning spots. Trump took 49% of the GOP primary vote, well above the 18% for John Kasich in second place. With 92% of precincts reporting, Clinton’s victory was much narrower with 51% of the vote over Sanders at 48%.

At the local Ward 3 level, the Democratic committee showed the following voting results. Ward 3 Democrats will hold their caucus on Saturday, March 5th, 10am at the Nazzaro Community Center (see event post).
