The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) voted 23-2 to support the a new Wine and Malt Beverages with Cordials/liqueurs license for the expected opening of Ben Cotto pizzeria and restaurant at 361 Hanover Street. Co-owner/manager Warren Mustacchio presented with Attorney William Ferullo at the group’s March meeting. Joseph Bono, of Al Dente and Benevento’s on Salem Street, is also co-owner of Ben Cotto.

Ben Cotto means “well done” in Italian. The 40-seat restaurant will open next to Giacomo’s Ristorante at the corner of Hanover and Fleet Streets. The site was most recently 1-800-Flowers and previously occupied by the well-known Circle Pizza for nearly 50 years.
Proponents said that discussions with Giacomo’s have resulted in a new sidewalk line that attempts to separate the standing line on the sidewalk. Hours will be 11am-11pm on weekdays and closing at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
