Mother Nature is reminding us that it is February and with that comes snow! On Friday, the Boston area is expected to receive 4-8 inches, depending on how the rain/snow line moves during the day.
The National Weather Service is predicting a ‘wet snow’ that will be heavy to shovel. Winds are also expected to pickup during the day with gusts up to 35 miles per hour.
Boston Public School kids get a long weekend, although some schools outside the city are still planning on having classes today. Boston Centers for Youth and Family, including the Nazzaro Center in the North End, will be open until 6:00 p.m.
As of early Friday morning, no parking ban has been declared in Boston. Friday trash pickup will continue as scheduled and all Boston Public Libraries will be open as normal, including the North End and West End branches.
The worst of the storm is set for late Friday morning with tapering off in the afternoon. City storm information is available on boston.gov/snow.
