Little Groove Music Classes at the West End Branch of the BPL. Little Groove music classes are designed to help infants, toddlers, and preschoolers learn and interact through sound, sight, and touch in a live music setting.

6:30pm Old North Speaker Series: Katherine Grandjean – Publishing Terror: Reflections on the Rise of Printing in Early Boston
In early New England, the rise of printing coincided with the rise of imperial war. Most colonists did not experience the violence of French and Indian raiding, but they heard and read about it—at length. This talk will trace the origins of printed news in early America and explore the lessons of some of its dark, even frightful, content. Register for your free tickets here.

6:00pm North End Holiday Shopping Stroll [North End, Boston, MA]
Join us for the 9th Annual North End Holiday Shopping Stroll, a free event designed to fête the arrival of the holiday season. Shoppers will have the chance to explore the narrow streets, trendy boutiques, wine stores, design studios, galleries, and specialty shops of Boston’s Little Italy. View the event post.
6:00pm Tree Event at Hanover & Cross Streets
Gear up before the annual North End Holiday Shopping Stroll with hot chocolate and carolers at the tree event sponsored by the North End Beautification Committee. The cheer will begin at 6pm on December 4th at the corner of Cross and Hanover Streets. Santa will be on hand along with a bake sale to benefit St. John School. View the event post.
Saturday, December 5
10:00am Cycstic Fibrosis Fundraiser at Nazzaro Center
We will be holding our Annual Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser at the Nazzaro Community Center from 10am to 5pm. There will be free Arts and Crafts from 11am to 1pm for all ages – younger children will need parental assistance. There will be a bake sale, raffle, Christmas Ornaments for sale – made by the children at the Center and much more.

Award-winning author and illustrator Tomie dePaola has been writing and illustrating books for over 50 years. With over 250 books carrying his name, he has received the 2011 Laura Ingalls Wilder Award, as well as the Caldecott Honor, the Newbery Honor and the New Hampshire Governor’s Arts Award of Living Treasure.
2:30pm Mayor’s Trolley Tour at Prado, North End
For the 20th year, the Mayor’s Enchanted Trolley Tour will continue the festive tradition of lighting up holiday trees throughout Boston while bringing presents and holiday spirit to children across the city. View the events post.
5:00pm St. John School / Boston Community Collaborative “The Jungle Book” Performance
Located at the Boston Harbor Community Church, 9 Salutation Street, Boston Community Collaborative and St. John School proudly presents “The Jungle Book.” All are welcome to this FREE performance put on by our hardworking students. A reception will follow the performance.
5:00pm Coro-Dante Italian Christmas Concert [Sacred Heart Church, 303 Paris St, East Boston]
Coro-Dante – the all-Italian repertoire Chorus of the Dante Alighieri Society, directed by Kevin Galie’, presents an Italian Christmas concert. Free and open to all. We will be singing the choruses of Antonio Cartellieri’s “La Celebre Natività del Redentore” as well as Italian Christmas Carols.
