Neighborhood Kids Enjoy Annual Fall Festival by Friends Group [Photos]

The 2015 Fall Festival at Columbus Park was a big hit with dozens of neighborhood kids, thanks to the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park. In what has become an annual tradition on Columbus Day, the free family day kicked off with a kids parade and promenade through the park. At the conclusion of the parade, there was a short ceremony at the Christopher Columbus statue, including a wreath laying ceremony led by City Councilor Sal LaMattina and Rep. Aaron Michlewitz. A highlight of the ceremony was Salvatore Atti singing “O Sole Mio.”

Entertainment through the day featured Christopher Columbus on stilts, Mickey Mouse, Peter O’Malley the Magician, Big Joe the Storyteller, Jim the Bubble Guy, NEMPAC’s craft table and the Aquarium tidepool.
