Notice any themes with this weeks events? Halloween is in full swing, with a plethora of festive events for the fall season!

Tuesday, October 20

3:30pm Pumpkin Painting on the Prado [Paul Revere Mall, Boston]
It’s NEMPAC’s annual Pumpkin Painting – only $5 a pumpkin with the supplies is provided, consider bringing a smock to keep clean. Rain Date: Wednesday, Oct. 21st.

6:30pm Garden Garage IAG Meeting at West End Place [150 Staniford St # 1, Boston]
The Impact Advisory Group (IAG) Meeting for the proposed Garden Garage development is open to the public, even though IAG meetings prioritize discussion between the project proponent (i.e. the developer) and IAG members. If time remains at the end of the meeting, BRA staff will open the floor to other community members in attendance.

Wednesday, October 21

9:00am St. John School Open House [St. John School, 9 Moon Street, Boston]

5:00pm Italian Movie Nights at Caffe Paradiso  [255 Hanover Street, Boston]
Each Wednesday evening, two Italian movies will be shown with English subtitles (5:00 and 7:00 pm) at Caffè Paradiso downstairs in the air-conditioned viewing room. The movies will be projected on a huge screen with clear and loud stereo speakers. Additionally, we will provide fresh food and drinks from local North End establishments.

5:30pm Age-Friendly Session at Mariner’s House, 11 North Square 2nd Floor
North End listening session to make Boston a more age-friendly city, refreshments will be served. RSVP to andrea.burns@boston.gov read more information on the event.

Saturday, October 24

12:00pm Grand Opening of Yankee Doodle Candy [56 Salem Street, Boston]
Grand Opening of Yankee Doodle Candy will have distinguished guests, fun, music and prizes!

12:00pm Halloween Pet Parade at Faneuil Hall Marketplace
Faneuil Hall Marketplace Merchants Association will be hosting its third annual Halloween Pet Parade and Costume Contest. Pet owners are invited to dress their pets in a Halloween costume and participate in the annual parade. There will be a panel of judges who will decide the winners of six top awards. The Halloween Pet Parade and Costume Contest will be hosted by radio station Magic 106.7FM. Prizes will be awarded.

12:30pm Coro-Dante Chamber Singers at North End Library [25 Parmenter St, Boston]
The Coro-Dante Chamber Singers will be presenting a selection of music in Italian, including some favorite Neapolitan and Sicilian songs The Coro-Dante Chamber Singers is part of the 60-voice Coro-Dante of the Dante Alighieri Society of Cambridge/Boston”.

1:00pm Halloween Parade Starts at Battery & Hanover Streets
The annual Halloween Parade will feature plenty of entertainment for the whole family, view the event from previous years.

6:30pm St. Leonard Parish Dinner Dance at Knights of Columbus Charlestown [545 Medford St. Charlestown, MA]
Saint Leonard Parish will host their annual Dinner Dance, call the office at 617-523-2110 for tickets.

7:00pm NEMPAC Recital: Love: Made in America at St. Stephen’s Church [24 Clark St, Boston]
NEMPAC Faculty Member and Soprano – Susan Davies – in Recital titled “LOVE: Made in America.” The event is free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10-15 (all proceeds go directly to the artists). Join us for a celebration of American music inspired by love. 

Sunday, October 25

10:00am Urban Pumpkin Patch at Boston Public Market
Bringing the farm to the city, Boston Public Market will create a pumpkin patch on the plaza alongside the Rose Kennedy Greenway outside the Market. Bring the family to stock up on locally sourced pumpkins and gourds for Halloween and enjoy pumpkin crafts, cider, and donuts on the plaza. Percentage of proceeds will do to support local farmers, fishermen and food producers.

1:00pm Author Talk: Anthony Sammarco at La Summa Restaurant [30 Fleet Street, North End]
Author Anthony Sammarco will speak on the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts’ 100th Anniversary Book. Books will be sold and signed at the event, attendees will order off the menu. Sponsored by Greater Boston Renaissance Lodge #2614, email Dr. Dean Saluti, djsaluti@aol.com.
