Family of Eric Munsell, who drowned in harbor, sues bar

Many may remember the candlelight vigils at the time the late Eric Munsell went missing last year. After drowning in Boston Harbor in February, the family of the victim is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the Market Bar in financial district for kicking him out to “fend for himself.” Read the article at, The Boston Globe.

George Scialabba gets his day of glory

George Scialabba, an intellectual essayist and book reviewer will be celebrating his recent retirement from Harvard University by being honored by the Baffler and the city of Cambridge. A product of the North End, Scialabba was recruited out of Catholic high school to come to Harvard and had stints working at the Globe, The Village Voice, and The Nation. Advocates for composting not always on fertile ground

The movement to start composting in the city of Boston can be challenging with the space restrictions. Yet the city has installed community bins, like the North End’s bin in the parking lot of the Nazzaro Center. The program is more popular than anticipated, with 178 individuals and families participating, the city collected 6,600 pounds of compost from June 12th to August 28th. Homeless in the North End

Speaking through an anonymous forum, complaints of homeless people staying in Copp’s Hill terrace and setting up camp has lead to people witnessing two of them having sex one of the benches. Read more on the forum at City-Data.com.

Laurie + Louis | North End Engagement

Married on September 5th, Laurie and Louis took engagement photos the week before their big day to take advantage of the Fisherman’s Feast festival lights.
