Monday, July 13

6:00pm 92-96 Salem St. Abutters Meeting at 92-96 Salem Street (Outside)
Hear plans and voice your opinions at the 92-96 Salem St. Abutters meeting where the applicant is seeking zoning relief for 10ft. addition.

7:00pm NEWNC Monthly Meeting – Nazzaro Center, 30 N. Bennet Street

Tuesday, July 14

9:00am Children’s Art Workshop at Christopher Columbus Park
The annual ParkARTS program gives kids the opportunity to express their creativity while working on fun projects with local artists. Children ages three to ten can enjoy watercolor painting, mask and jewelry making, treasure creations, and more!

Wednesday, July 15

11:00am Greenway Farmers Market at North End Parks, 136 Blackstone Street
The Boston Public Market’s Greenway Farmers Market offers fresh local food on the plaza at 136 Blackstone Street, opposite the Rose Kennedy Greenway’s North End Parks. This season, the Boston Public Market Greenway Farmers Market runs on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Also on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

11:00am City Hall Plaza “Lawn Party”
City Hall Plaza Party, celebrating the launch of Boston’s new “Front Lawn” on City Hall Plaza. The 40×40 foot stretch of astroturf will be rolled out on Wednesday, and will have lawn games, board games and new seating available, as well as music and food trucks. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

6:30pm “Boy” 2010 Film at North End Library
“Boy” (2010) Set on the east coast of New Zealand in the year 1984, Boy, an 11-year-old kid and devout Michael Jackson fan gets a chance to know his father, who has returned to find a bag of money he buried years ago. Runtime of 87 minutes.

7:30pm Movie Night at the Gassy, DeFilippo Playground
Movies start at dusk on Wednesdays in July and August at the Gassy, DeFilippo Playground on Prince Street. Pizza is provided by Pizzeria Regina – bring your chairs and blankets!

Thursday, July 16

1:00pm NEAD Arts & Crafts at Mirabella Pool
NEAD will provide arts and crafts with Patricia and Marlo at the Mirabella Pool outside the concession stand to the left under the trees. Children ages 6 and up will be able to make a fun craft each week. Children under age 6 can participate with a parents help.

6:00pm RUFF Ice Cream Social at Gassy Dog Park
Responsible Urbanites for Fido is hosting an ice cream social, sponsored by Crate Escapes at the Gassy Dog Park on Prince Street.

6:30pm Rachel Revere Park Public Meeting at St. John School, 9 Moon Street
The Boston Parks and Recreation Department and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services invite the public to the second meeting to discuss upcoming improvements to Rachel Revere Square located at 200 North Street in the North End.

7:00pm Jazz Quartet at Christopher Columbus Park
Featuring the Patrice Williamson Jazz Quartet – The North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is partnering once again with the Mayor’s Office of Special Events this summer season to bring an exciting, FREE music program to Christopher Columbus Park.

Friday, July 17

12:00pm Afternoon Concert Series at Sam Adams Park (Faneuil Hall)
Featuring “Grey Season” as part of the 2015 Friday Afternoon Concert Series lineup. From July 10 – August 21, 2015, each Friday a different local band will perform live from 12pm-2pm in Sam Adams Park (Faneuil Hall). The event is free!

6:00pm NEAD Sports Night at Polcari Playground (Nazzaro Center)
Sports Night program returns on Friday evenings for 5 weeks in a row. This program will once again be led by Jeremy Sarzana, who works at the Nazzaro Center throughout the year. There will be pizza and soft drinks for the kids who participate in the sports night program.

6:00pm “African Queen”(1951) Movie at Rowes Wharf – BHH
In Africa during WWI, a gin-swilling riverboat captain is persuaded by a strait-laced missionary to use his boat to attack an enemy warship. More information on the movie.

Sunday, July 19

1:00pm St. Rocco Procession Starts at St. Leonard Church
St. Rocco Procession starts at St. Leonard Church, Hanover & Prince Streets, view the complete feast schedule.

7:30pm Sunday Night Movie at Christopher Columbus Park
Toy Story is the feature this week for the Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) is delighted to present Sunday Night Movies in the Park again this year thanks to the sponsorship of Al Dente Restaurant, Benevento’s Restaurant and Boston Pushcart. View the summer movie lineup.

  1. FYI – the 6pm at 92-96 Salem is NOT about a 10ft addition… it is about constructing a 5-story building…
    see NEWNC’s agenda.

    Nicholas DaMore, 92-96 Salem Street (3 Wiget Street): Petitioner seeking zoning relief to change the legal occupancy of the premises to 11 residential units and a commercial space by constructing a five story building at 3 Wiget Street. The new structure will contain 5 new bedroom units and will be combined with 92-96 Salem St. (Atty. Daniel Toscano, ZBA hearing date tbd).
