Relay for Life Benefit a Huge Success

A fantastic and successful fundraiser was held at Filippo’s Ristorante on Causeway Street on last Tuesday, April 21st. Everyone raved about the food, the location, the great raffle and silent auction prizes, and the atmosphere created by the fun group of people who attended.

The dinner was hosted by Marie Parker Orlandi and Karen Parker Meyers, for their Relay for Life “Miles of Memories” team for the American Cancer Society. The many donors that provided funding and prizes were recognized by them, as well as the businesses, associations, family and friends that helped make the event such a success. They would also like to extend a special thanks to Filippo’s Ristorante for a job WELL DONE!

“We do this in memory of those we love and lost and in honor of our loved ones that are currently fighting and surviving cancer,” Marie said. “We are determined to have more happy memories and birthdays together.”

Karen and Marie will be walking overnight for the sixth consecutive year at the Burlington High School track on June 13-14, 2015. If you would like to make a donation or join their team by either walking with them or fundraising, please feel free to contact either Karen at kparker209@yahoo.com or Marie at marie.orlandi@yahoo.com.
