Neighborhood Photo: Painting Antonio Navarro

Antonio with a painting of

Antonio Navarro is certainly one of the more distinctive faces in the North End. His father was Sicilian and his mother Basque. Supporting the reputation that Basque people live long lives, Antonio is going strong in his late-80s. He can still be found singing with an accordion in his hands from time to time.

Patricia Thiboutot shares this image of a painting she recently presented to Antonio with his likeness.

  1. Thank you, Matt, for posting the photo of Antonio. He was one of the first persons whom we met when we moved to the North End 20 years ago. A dear sweet man with a passion for singing Italian songs. He gave pleasure to many who were entertained by him.
