ABC’s “Broad Squad” has setup in the North End at the Battery Wharf Hotel for fittings and wardrobe among other things. The North End base appears to be mostly supporting functions with filming taking place in Southie and Lynn.
The “Broad Squad” TV pilot is about the first women to graduate from the Boston Police Academy in the 1970’s. It stars Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”) and Rutina Wesley (“True Blood”). The script is from Harvard graduate and actress Bess Wohl and it’s being produced by Josh Schwartz (“Gossip Girl”, “The O.C.”). The idea for the series came from Alexandra Lydon, who grew up in Dorchester with a family of cops.
