
Snow Emergency Updates
Due to the snow emergency, trash and recycling pickup in the North End / Waterfront area is cancelled for Monday, February 9th. The next pickup will be on Friday, February 13th. Do not put out your trash on the street until Thursday, February 12th, 5:00 pm at the earliest.
Boston Public Schools has announced that BPS schools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. Public libraries will also be closed. The Nazzaro Center is expected to be open during the day.
Snow emergency parking ban is in effect as of Sunday, 6pm. In the North End / Waterfront, snow emergency streets include Hanover, N. Washington, Commercial Streets and Atlantic Avenue.
During the snow emergency any North End resident with a residential parking sticker can park at the MassDOT Parcel 7 garage for free during the parking ban. There are limited spaces.
Ticketing will be heavily enforced for cars parked on crosswalks, on main arteries, or blocking roads, according to city officials.

Trash and Recycling Collection – City of Boston – Snow Emergency Update
For residents who live in North End, Beacon Hill, Bay Village, or Chinatown, where trash and recycling is collected 2 times per week on (Monday-Friday), Monday collection is cancelled and the next collection will take place on Friday, February 13th.
For residents in Back Bay, Fort Hill, Roxbury, and sections of *Jamaica Plain where trash and recycling is collected 2 times per week (Monday and Thursday) schedule , Monday collection is cancelled, and the next collection will take place on Thursday February 12th.
South Boston, Charlestown no delay.
For residents in South End, Mission Hill, Roxbury, where trash and recycling is collected 2 times per week (Tuesday and Friday ), there will be the regular schedule with no delay.
All other sections of the City delayed a day
If you live in sections of Jamaica Plain that receive trash and recycling collection 1 time per week, collection is delayed a day. All routes should expect a one day delay. Lookup Your Pickup Schedule
