For his years of service and commitment to the North End community in general and the youth of the neighborhood in particular, the Nazzaro Center Youth Program paid tribute to Officer Teddy Boyle, long a champion of the younger generation.
Wearing various hats including District 1 Liaison to the North End, a board member of North End Against Drugs, our go-between to the Police Athletic League and all around good friend to the community, Teddy Boyle time and again has proven to be an invaluable asset for the betterment, character and safety of the neighborhood and the Nazzaro center youth decided it was time they told him so.
The children handmade dozens of cards of appreciation which were presented to Officer Boyle along with an arrangement of Italian cookies from one of our local pastry shops. Following a brief talk given by Officer Ted on the day-to-day workings of a police officer, the formal presentations were made, followed by a variety of group photos. The children and Officer Boyle felt right at home in the presence of each other and why shouldn’t they?
The formal ceremony was just an affirmation of what everyone in the neighborhood has known for a long, long time; that Officer Boyle is one of us and we are proud to have his dedication and service these many years.
