Students Perform Hansel and Gretel at the Improv Asylum [Photos]

Boston Community Collaborative’s Dance and Drama students performed an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s Hansel and Gretel to a packed house on Sunday at The Improv Asylum.  It was simply wonderful.

Many many thank you’s:

Thank you Improv Asylum for allowing us to use your wonderful space, and for being such kind and gracious hosts.

Thank you Ingrid Oslund for your adaptation, production and direction of the show.  Thank you Ingrid for your hard hard work to pull it all off!

Thank you Ms. Jessica and Ms. Mira for your kind and thoughtful attention and assistance with all of our classes at SJS after school.

Thank you Ms Yee, Kindergarten teacher at the Eliot for accepting the 7 ft tall gingerbread house that was very lovingly constructed.  We are so grateful that its life has been extended and that it will be enjoyed for a bit longer.  (For future:  If anyone needs any such a thing for your classroom, or playroom, give a shout – I know several enthusiastic workers who can help me construct such a thing).

Thank you Karen McLaughlin, principal of SJS for your wonderful support during our preparation of our show and of all the kids and families who participated – and for your fostering such a great community that is the SJS.

Thank you Daniella Fratteroli, and Marilyn Frissora, Ms S, Ms Julie, Ms Roseanna, Ms Michelle, Ms Avalone, and ALL the teachers at the afterschool program – for all of your help to us at SJS afterschool program – and for your patience and kindness that you always extend to us.  You are so very helpful, and kind, ALL THE TIME.  Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who shared something special for our potluck holiday reception, and for your patience as you waited while your child(ren) rehearsed before the actual show.

Thank you to everyone who offered their help before, during, and after the performance to help set up, clean, schlep things to and from cars, park cars, etc etc etc.

Thank you to the parents of our students.  Thank you for sending them to us!  They are so great – and so fun to work with.  You should be so proud of them for the hard work that they put in to make the show so fabulous – and you should be proud of yourselves for having such great kids.

Thank you to our performers.  Each of you are AMAZING.  Congratulations on a job well done!  You should be very proud of yourselves!

Our next session of Drama, Dance, Fitness, and Engineering for Kids begins the week of January 5th.  If you’d like more information, email becca0923@yahoo.com.
