Restaurant Graveyard: 13 Boston Eateries that Departed in 2014

Boston’s restaurant scene continues to evolve while maintaining a lot of the traditional Boston restaurants, and although it is, “sad but true,” many have closed in 2014. Owners of James Hook & Co. Plan to Build Residential Tower, Restaurant at Waterfront Site

The landmark seafood vendor James Hook & Co. has been open since 1925 and is located on Atlantic Avenue and is considering developing the site into a 22 story residential tower with 9,000 square-foot on the ground floor for the seafood restaurant. Boston Restaurant Talk has more on the developing news.

2014 NEMPAC Pumpkin Painting a Tremendous Success!

Long rumored skate park to allegedly open next year

It has been talked about for quite some time now, and the project is officially underway to build the skate park near the Zakim bridge along the Charles river. The ground breaking took place recently and the goal is to have the skate park open in a year. UniversalHub

Aquarium News and Updates

The New England Aquarium’s CEO published in opinion piece in the Boston Globe about the efforts from both political parties on protecting ocean habitat. Burst steam pipe shuts Aquarium, but fish, penguins are OK

The aquarium was forced to close and evacuate visitors after a steam pipe bursted in the basement, resulting in a power outage that lasted for almost an hour. The steam is used for several of the utility functions for the aquarium, read more at UniversalHub.
