A meet and greet with Maura Healey brought dozens to The Living Room on Monday night. Healey is a Charlestown resident, former state prosecutor and the Democratic Candidate for Attorney General. If elected, she would also be the first openly gay attorney general in the nation.
The event was hosted by State Representative Aaron Michlewitz (D-North End, Downtown, South End) along with other residents from the North End / Waterfront neighborhood. Healey recently defeated Warren Tolman in the Democratic Primaryn with 62% of the vote. “I am thrilled to support Maura Healey’s candidacy,” said Rep. Michlewitz, who will also be on the ballot in November, running unopposed. “Her extensive experience and strong record on equality, consumer protection, and women’s rights will make her a great Attorney General and a strong asset for the Commonwealth.” Also on hand was District 1 Boston City Councilor Sal LaMattina (North End, Charlestown, East Boston) and State Representative Dan Ryan (D-Charlestown, Chelsea). Maura Healy will face Republican attorney John Miller in the November election.
