MassDOT Logo Big6:00pm Meeting: Greenway Ramp Parcel Study [City Hall, 9th Floor, BRA Board Room] MassDOT will discuss options for covering the open ramp portions of Central Artery/Tunnel Parcels 6, 12 and 18 along the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Staff from MassDOT and the BRA, along with their consultant team, will provide an update on current and planned study activities, present information on existing conditions and potential redevelopment options, and also offer the public an opportunity to provide input on potential alternatives for the ramp parcels. More Information

6:00pm Italian Heritage Month Begins [House Chamber, 3rd Floor at the State House in Boston] Coro Dante will be performing the American and Italian anthems and other musical selections. Attend with friends and family and show your support of October Italian Heritage Month! Free and open to the public, refreshments will be served. 6:00pm Young Professionals Meet & Greet at Old North Church [193 Salem St, Boston] Join the Old North Foundation staff and other local young professionals for a mix-and-mingle reception in our fabulous Washington Courtyard (weather permitting). 7:00pm Community Service Award Ceremony for John Romano
[467 Hanover St, Boston]  All our welcome at the St. Joseph Society will hold an awards ceremony honoring John Romano with a Community Service Award in recognition of his many years of Dedicated Leadership and Commitment to the important civic and charitable organizations benefiting the North End. John is the current President of NEAD, North End Against Drugs and serves as the baseball and soccer coordinator for the NEAA, the North End Athletic Association. He is also a past President of NEMPAC, the North End Music and Performing Arts Center and the past Grand Knight of the Ausonia Council Knights of Columbus #1513.

4:00pm Reception: Members Gallery Exhibit, Tony DeMarco at the Boston Garden
[150 Staniford St, Boston] Free and open to the public, light refreshments will be served. No registration required for this event. The exhibit will feature photographs of boxing champ Tony DeMarco’s many matches at the old Boston Garden. The former Welterweight Champion of the World, DeMarco grew up in Boston’s North End but cut his boxing teeth beginning at age 11 at the West End Boys Club. 

6:00pm St. Joseph Feast Sidewalk Cafe in the Prado [Paul Revere Mall] Music will be played by Ray Cavicchio. 

7:00pm Italian Music with The Pillars [West End Museum, 150 Staniford St, Boston] $10 Donation / $5 Museum Members: Boston’s latest Italy-inspired musical project, The Pillars, is a band headed by Milan-native singer-songwriter Cristina Vaira and guitarist Alejandro Ramirez Cisneros.
