NEMPAC Summer Programs…..It’s a WRAP!

The children involved at NEMPAC this summer filled our North End neighborhood with singing, dancing, musical instruments, and more! For five weeks, over eighty children and eight-teen instructors participated in the North End Music & Performing Arts Center’s youth camps including Children’s Music Theatre Workshop, Meet the Instruments Camp, Tiny Toes Ballet Camp, and Rock Band Camp!

NEMPAC Children’s Music Theatre Camp ran for three weeks and each week featured a Friday Musical performance. They learned several songs, lines, dances, and proper stage etiquette. The musical productions included a version of  “Cinderella“, and two musicals written by our Stage Director, Rebecca Miller, titled  “Holding out for a Hero” and “Wild Things“. The Kids Rock Band especially had a great week and were even featured at our 2nd Annual Family Night on the Prado on August 8th!

The week of August 11th brought a week full of Tiny Toes Ballet classes in the morning for children ages 3 – 6, and an afternoon of “Meet the Instruments” for children 4 – 7. “Our goal with the Meet the Instruments program was to give children a hands on experience with specific instrument groups in order for them to find their favorite – which they surely did!“, says Executive Director, Sherri Snow.

As back to school time approaches, NEMPAC welcomes new students of all ages and abilities. Please visit our website and don’t miss our Fall Program Registration Deadlines: Private Music Instruction Deadline for returning students is: Monday, September 1, 2014 and our Class Registration Deadline: Friday, September 12th, 2014. We have many wonderful after-school offerings and adult programs this year at NEMPAC!
