Philip’s Salon Receives Good Neighbor Recognition Award for July 2014

The Good Neighbor Recognition Award for July 2014 was awarded to Philip’s Salon at 437 Hanover Street. The award was presented by Recognition Committee Chair Janet Gilardi of the North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA).

Maria Russo is the owner of Philip’s Salon, starting her business on Prince Street before modernizing and moving to Hanover Street. Back then, Maria even scrubbed the sidewalk with Sulphonatha, a well known cleaning and disinfectant agent.

The monthly award is voted by NEWRA’s Executive Committee and presented to local businesses, organizations and property owners that consistently keep the areas around their property clean of trash and debris.
