Fitness lifestyle photographer and North End resident, Lucie Wicker, recently finished a personal project about people running the 2014 Boston Marathon. The photos show environmental portraits of runners who live and train in the Boston area. Their personal stories – who they are and why they run – are featured along with their portraits. One of the portrait participants, Ali Baldassare, also lives in the North End.
While they all run for different reasons- charity, personal goals, health, all of the above- they are all passionate about these reasons and long distance running. Even though the marathon takes place in the spring, obviously a lot of the training goes on during the worst times of the year and I wanted to highlight this (I find this extremely admirable and impressive!).
The exhibit is now open at Sweetgreen at 659 Boylston Street in Back Bay and will run through the end of April 2014. You can also view the portraits at the “Why I Run – Boston Marathon 2014” project website.
Congratulations, Lucie! I’ve always liked your city sports photography of locals in action with our beautiful cityscapes.
Thank you Kevin! Much appreciated! 🙂
