The NEAA-Nazzaro Center Basketball League held its annual award banquet on Sunday, March 30th at Filippo’s Ristorante, celebrating its 41st season this year. The Knights and Small Fry Leagues are among the most popular programs run out of the Nazzaro Center. The various levels of the league provide winter long basketball instructional and (mildly) competitive basketball for Boys and Girls Ages 4-14. Awards were received by all players with special recognition to those with good or perfect attendance.
Hosting the banquet was Carl Ameno, Nazzaro Center Director with Mike Giannasoli from the North End Athletic Association. The team players are instructed by highly competent youth basketball coaches, playing a balanced and organized, full schedule officiated by skilled referees. All games are played at the Nazzaro Gym utilizing the main scoreboard. The season ran from October 2013 until “March Madness” and was entirely free for those registered at the Nazzaro Center.
