Mayor Martin Walsh, Boston Fire Department members, elected officials and family members of Lieutenant Edward Walsh and Firefighter Michael Kennedy gathered on City Hall Plaza Friday afternoon to raise the BFD flag and observe a moment of silence in their honor.  Lt. Walsh and firefighter Kennedy both lost their lives fighting a 9 alarm blaze on Beacon Street this past Wednesday. Photos by Isabel Leon, Mayor’s Office Photography.

Hull Street Fire Near Old North Church; Residents Thank Good Samaritan and Boston Fire

A fire broke out early Saturday morning on Hull Street, up the block from Old North Church on the Freedom Trail in Boston’s North End.
