North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) is collaborating with the Old North Church to organize Amore, an Opera concert taking place Friday, Feburary 14th at 7:00pm. The concert is set to last about an hour plus a small reception after the show. This event is free and open to the public. Suggested donation is $15-$20.
Vocalists from both NEMPAC and the Old North Church are performing, accompanied by the church’s music director, Libor Dudas. “We wanted to put together a romantic evening that could be an add-on to a dinner date or simply an alternative to the norm” says Sherri Snow, Executive Director at NEMPAC as well as one of the six vocalists for Amore. This will be NEMPAC’s third annual Valentine’s Day concert as part of the 2014 Winter Concert Series. The North End is such a close-nit community, and the goal of Amore Opera Concert is to bring that community even closer on a day when love and connection is meant to be celebrated.
NEMPAC is a small non-profit that has been bring music, theater, and dance to the North End since 2001. They offer a wide and varied range of classes and hold several events a year. All ages and levels are encouraged to get involved in the programs.
