We are fortunate to meet many photographers, professional and amateur, in the North End. One amateur that comes to almost all of the Italian feast processions is Gerri Palladino. She follows the saints just for the love of it and gets some amazing photos. In this image, Gerri captures the classic moment at the beginning of the St. Anthony’s Feast Sunday Grand Procession before the statue is filled with money while the confetti cannons are blasting red, green and white paper into the air. You can almost feel the cheering of the street crowd. Speaking of which, if you want to hear that, check out this video from last summer’s 10 hour grand procession.
