The North End Columbus Day Celebration Gala on Friday night at the Fairmont Battery Wharf not only raised funds for Sunday’s parade, but also took time out to honor Boston’s first Italian-American and longest serving Mayor, Thomas M. Menino. There will be many more photos to come, but here are a few from the reception.

Mayor to Visit North End Head Start

On Tuesday, October 6th, Mayor Menino will tour the North End Head Start school and visit with some of the children. The mayor will also read to the children and participate in a number of other activities with them. The visit is scheduled for 11:15am at 9 Moon Street (at North Street).

The North End Bi-Annual Columbus Day Parade was held Sunday October 11, beginning at City Hall Plaza and making its way through downtown Boston and the waterfront and into the North End.
