COPPOLA; Joe “Cheegelo”, age 91, of Boston’s North End, passed away on August 21, 2013 in the Chelsea Soldier’s Home. He was the beloved husband of Eileen (Moore) Coppola with whom he shared many years of marriage, and brother of the late Johnny “Blah”. In addition to his wife Eileen, he will be deeply missed by his four children, Michael of FL, Carmel of Italy, Annelouise and Janine, both of Boston; His brother Anthony “Biffo” of Boston; Three loving grandchildren, Joseph, Lindsay, and Andrea; and one great-granddaughter, Raphaella; He also leaves many dear nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as his beloved best friends Freddy Sarno and Mary Welch.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26th at 8:45am from the Boston Harborside Home, 580 Commercial St, Boston, followed by a 9:45am funeral mass at St. Leonard Church, corner of Hanover and Prince St, Boston. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. The family will be accepting visitors on Sunday at the Funeral Home from 3-7pm. Parking attendants will available. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s memory to the Soldier’s Home, 91 Crest Ave, Chelsea, MA 02150.
Loyal friend, warrants quality friendships, caring gentleman to all, guardian for all surrounding associates, and much much more could be said for this amazing all around man~~~from Boston to Florida to Italy, even during his War Time years he will be remembered endearingly !!!!! To a Dear Friend I hate to have lost~~~May you Rest – In – Peace !!
