Workers from the Parks Department trimmed back the trees at Copp’s Hill Terrace last week. Maryann captures these photos and gives it a thumbs up with more light and visibility into the park.

One of the great things about the terrace was it offered a cool, shaded place to sit. Why is there such enthusiasm to remove the little green canopy that exists in the North End? The same happened on the Prado with the lopsided chopping (not trimming) of several trees.
I think they did a good job, mostly taking out dead branches and raising the canopy so it’s easier to walk on the sidewalk along the stone wall on Charter Street. There’s still shade in the upper level of the park. It’s nice to see the Parks Department taking care of the trees.
