Pre-Fourth of July Fireworks on Boston Harbor [Photos]

Word circulated on Twitter that @AtlasPyrovision would be setting off fireworks from a barge in Boston Harbor for a private event on Wednesday night. The show started around 10:15 pm and lasted for 30 minutes. Some cloud cover and smoke gave a surreal feeling to the display, like the movie “Independence Day.” Photos from the North End side of the harbor are shown below.

  1. This would normally be something to be excited about but on a week night so late without warning? Kids woken up and crying isn’t fun. Can’t the city let us know ahead of time?

    1. I’d feel more sympathy if Cafe Pompeii wasn’t open until 4am every morning. The city doesn’t care that people are standing around screaming outside every night right under my building, why would they care about some fireworks going off before nightly quiet hours start at 11?

      1. Call 911. The only way Pompei will do something is if the police show up night after night.. Pompeii has had that license forever. The Licensing Board will haul the owner in for a hearing if there are license premise violations written up by the BPD. Keep track of when you call and then go to a public saftey meeting and question the police about it. It helps if more than one person calls.
