TD Garden Twin Towers Back on Drawing Board for North Station Site

Rendering submitted to Boston Redevelopment Authority of facade on Causeway Street for proposed TD Garden Towers.

General plans have been put forth by Delaware North, owner of TD Garden, and Boston Properties (Atlantic Wharf developer) for a huge new development on the Causeway Street parking lot site in front of the TD Garden arena. The proponents are calling for two 400 foot towers (28 stories) with a mixed use of offices, residences, hotel and retail.

Forming the gateway to North Station, the lower levels will include retail with a speculated Target superstore and yet to be named supermarket. Stop & Shop has been the rumored market operator. A supermarket requirement was recently lifted on the nearby One Canal project. The Garden project is expected to begin the “Large Project Review” process at the Boston Redevelopment Authority.

The location is adjacent to Lovejoy Wharf, currently under construction for the new Converse headquarters and an apartment building at Beverly Street. Lovejoy, One Canal and the new TD Garden towers are reshaping the West End’s Bulfinch Triangle area.
