As part of the Mayor’s Boston Shines event, the Mass Department of Transportation is teaming with RUFF and the Mayor’s office to give the Richmond Street park a facelift. The Mass DOT will be putting down all new ground cover in the park, as well as adding new plantings and fences within the park. Work will begin on Thursday April 18th and the park will be closed until the Boston Shines event on April 27th when it will reopen for use.
Park users and dog owners should be aware that the park will be closed from Thursday, April 18th through Saturday, April 27th. RUFF will be organizing some “group dog walks” during the time the park is closed to help the dogs get some extra exercise. Please watch our mailing list, website, and Facebook page for dates and times of the group walks.
We appreciate your understanding while the park is under construction for improvements. Leash walks for a week will be well worth the improvements when Richmond street is cleaned up! Stay tuned for group walks and group outings to the fenced in park in Charlestown.
RUFF would like to extend our thanks to both Mass DOT and the Mayor’s office for making this facelift happen during Boston Shines.
What good news! At long last the Richmond Street Park is receiving the attention it deserves.
Thanks to the Ruff group who are working with MassDot to make this happen.
