The City of Boston declared a snow emergency and parking ban effective at 12:00pm on Friday, February 8, 2013. Parking is prohibited from snow emergency streets. On streets other than major arteries, parking within 20 feet of an intersection or further than one foot from the curb is prohibited, as this impedes access for both emergency vehicles and snow plows.
In the North End, snow emergency streets are Hanover St., Cross St., Commercial St. and N.Washington St. Alternate parking lots are open for those with resident parking stickers. Unfortunately, none are near the North End with the closest in Downtown Crossing (Lafayette Garage) and at Boston Common.

Getting a kick out of the tag-for-twitter wars going on. Do feel NEMO is a somewhat weak & silly name for a weather-event such as this blizzard.
