A highlight of Christmas in the North End is the Concerto di Natale (Christmas Concert) at Sacred Heart Italian Church in historic North Square. Now in its 8th year and organized by the St. Leonard Church Parish, the concert brought together three choirs and over 60 singers to give the performance of the season to a full house on Sunday, December 16, 2012.
The joint Christmas concert includes the St. Leonard Parish Italian Choir and Chamber Orchestra in collaboration with Our Lady of Czestochowa Church Polish Choir and the St. John’s School Children’s Choir. The music directors are Dan Drzymalski, Marta Saletnik and Betsy Ustach. After the concert, a Christmas party was enjoyed at the Saint John School Hall.
Video clips are shown above and photos from the event below. Photos and video by Matt Conti.
What great photos. It was a wonderful concert , very uplifting , considering what the nation has just witness at Sandy Hook. Thanks so much; I am sure the parents of Saint John School will be most appreciative of this posting!
Merry Christmas, Matt
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this concert a reality. It was the joint effort of everyone involved that made this concert such a success!
Exciting announcement: the St. Leonard Choral Society has been invited to sing at another Christmas Season Concert at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church (655 Dorchester Ave, South Boston), on January 6 at 3PM! It’s going to be another magical night with Christmas music filling the church. Come one, come all!
