St. Anthony Society Hosts a Neighborhood BBQ Before Feast Opening [Photos]

With near perfect weather forecast for the big weekend (unlike last year, thanks Irene), the mood was upbeat at the neighborhood cookout on Endicott Street as residents gathered on Thursday night before the crowds arrive for the 93rd Saint Anthony Feast that kicks off on Friday, August 24th at 7:00 pm. A large team of neighbors cooked and served over 100 people that turned out to catch up with friends at the tables setup on the street.

Boston Police Captain Tom Lee stopped by with State Rep. Aaron Michlewitz to assure everyone the police will be proactive to avoid past problems with hordes of teenagers causing trouble.

Thursday was the time for neighbors to gather, catch up and prepare for what could be the North End’s largest feast crowds ever. In the meantime, enjoy these photos from outside the St. Anthony club on Endicott Street.
