If you walk by at the right time on Salem Street this week, you might lucky enough to take part in the soft opening of the North End’s newest restaurant, Pulcinella Mozzarella Bar E Ristorante. North Enders Lynn and Marshall Mazzarella peeked in the window and were invited in by the owner’s daughter. They report:

“Well, you might have thought we were back in Italy and my cousin was hosting.  The owner, Giovanni Oliva, made us feel as though we had known him for years! The tasting items were so fresh and delicious.  I am sure this place will be a grand slam!

Their website describes the Mediterranean style, a kingdom of olive oil, garlic, olives, capers and shellfish.

What about Pulcinella? It is the mask that represent Naples: happy, no worries and a passion for good eating. Always ready to show whatever face is necessary to bring friends and foes together around a tables full of wine and good food and always distract us from the trials of the daily life.
