What’s Going On This Week:
There are two great outdoor concerts coming up this week. On Tuesday, 6pm, it’s Opera and Celtic music at Christopher Columbus Park followed on Thursday, 7pm, by NEMPAC’s Jazz Classics on the Prado.
The North End / Waterfront Residents’ Association, NEWRA, holds its annual Summer Party, 6:30pm on Wednesday at the Pilot House, Lewis Wharf. They welcome all residents.
And, of course, Friday brings the opening of the North End’s “Feast of all Feasts,” in honor of St. Anthony on Endicott, N. Margin and Thacher Streets.
Check with event organizers for last minute changes. View details and more community happenings on the Events Calendar.
What’s Popular on the Blog:
We posted over a hundred photos from the Fisherman’s Feast Flight of the Angel and Grand Procession on Sunday. Boston Harbor was also the site of history with the USS Constitution setting sail under her own power.
Not So Popular, But Still Important:
The weekly police blotter tells of a nasty street fight on the corner of Hanover and Commercial Streets.
Featured Series:
The North End is special and there are many events and issues that only happen here. See what we mean by checking out out our aptly named category: “Only in the North End.”
Neighborhood Photo:
The scene during the Flight of the Angel at the Fisherman’s Feast is like nothing else in the world. This photo is from Sunday night where the Flying Angel, Jessica Marie Palazzolo, is shown high in the air above the statue of the Madonna and a sea of iPhone-equipped onlookers.
