Updated Video: Film Preview for Boston’s North End: America’s Italian Neighborhood; Produced by the North End Historical Society
Following a successful preview event, the North End Historical Society provided an updated film trailer with additional footage from the in-progress film documentary, Boston’s North End: America’s Italian Neighborhood. The film is being created from stories of the Italian-American community that has called the North End home for over 100 years.
The finished product will be a 50 minute film. The project is being produced by Maureen McNamara’s Kendall Productions. A grant from the City of Boston’s Baxter Fund helped support the nine minute trailer shown in this post that was created from hours of interviews with North Enders from around the Boston area.
Some of the $95,000 cost to create the film has been raised, but there is still a way to go according to the producers. The creators would very much appreciate monetary donations toward this project of preserving the legacy of the North End.
