Italian-American Community Gathers at 2012 Festa della Repubblica

Christopher Columbus Park sported an Italian flair on Sunday with the Festa della Repubblica, the 66th anniversary of Italy as a united nation. Bostoniano.info has the details and photos.

Featuring Consul General of Italy, Giuseppe Pastorelli, the event was held on June 3, 2012 and sponsored by Comites and the Federazione Associazioni Italiane & Italo-Americane New England. Prizes were given out to last week’s bocce tourney winners, Associazione Gizio and Sons of Italy.

A group of food and retail vendors greeted visitors under the trellis, including complementary gelato from the North End’s Caffe Paradiso‘s Adrianna DeStefano with help from North Ender Patricia Thiboutot.
