Conservation Commission to Continue Commercial Wharf Discussion at June 6, 2012 Hearing

The discussion surrounding Commercial Wharf, Yacht Haven and the Harborwalk continues at the June 6, 2012 hearing of the Boston Conservation Commission, scheduled for 6:00 pm in Room 801 of Boston City Hall. See this post for an update from the last meeting. The full agenda is shown below with North End / Waterfront items highlighted. It was also noted that Chris Busch, Executive Director of the Commission, will be taking a new position with the Boston Redevelopment Authority.

PUBLIC HEARING

In accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, M.G.L. Chapter 131, Section 40, the Boston Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing in Boston City Hall, Room 801 on June 6, 2012 to review the following projects to determine what conditions, if any, the Commission will impose in order to protect the interests of the public and private water supply, ground water, prevention of pollution, flood control, prevention of storm damage, protection of fisheries and land containing shellfish, and protection of wildlife habitat:

[box]6:00 PM Request to amend Order of Conditions DEP File No. 006-1244 from Boston Boat Basin LLC, to replace existing floats and remove and install existing and new piles at 87 Commercial Wharf, North End, Boston Inner Harbor (Land Under Ocean, Fish Run).

6:15 PM Notice of Intent from Boston National Historic Park for the stabilization of Pier 2, including repairs to steel sheetpile and timber bulkheads, installation of stone riprap, timber pile repair, repaving of areas adjacent to Pier 2, and repairs to concrete along the adjacent Dry Dock 1 abutment, 65 Chelsea Street, Charlestown Navy Yard, Boston Inner Harbor (Land Under Ocean, Coastal Bank, Land Subject to Coastal Storm Flowage).

6:30 PM Notice of Intent from Boston Towing and Transportation Company for the demolition of a warehouse building and accessory buildings, site paving and the installation of stormwater infrastructure,  at 34-40 New Street, East Boston, Boston Inner Harbor (Designated Port Area, Land Under Ocean, Land Subject to Coastal Storm Flowage).

6:45 PM Request for Determination of Applicability from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation for the removal of existing culverts and installation of two temporary pedestrian bridges, at the Brook Farm Historic Site, 300 Baker Street, West Roxbury.

7:00 PM Enforcement Order issued to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for conducting work within the 100-foot Buffer Zone to wetland resource areas without a valid Order of Conditions, Southeast Expressway, Interstate I-93, Dorchester.

7:15 PM Enforcement Order issued to 479 Meridian Street LLC, for the alteration of wetland resource areas and 100-foot Buffer Zone without a valid Order of Conditions, 479 Meridian Street, East Boston, Chelsea Creek.
