The North End / Waterfront Neighborhood Council, NEWNC, unanimously supported the proposed new coffee shop, “Thinking Cup,” at 236 Hanover St., in the location formerly occupied by the “Filthy Rich” jewelry store. The zoning variance request for a change of use was filed by property owner Matteo Gallo. Presenting at the NEWNC meeting on April 9, 2012 were Andre Sadowski and Hugh Geiger, current operators of the “Thinking Cup” at 165 Tremont Street on Boston Common. The coffee shop owners have also filed for a C.V. license from the Licensing Board. The applicants are not applying for an alcohol license and the coffee shop will not have wi-fi. The closing hour will be 11 pm, Sun-Wed, and 12am Thu-Sat. View the full presentation, discussion and vote in the video from the meeting.
