The Jewish Community Relations Council announced that it is awarding its annual Legislative Achievement Award to State Representative Aaron Michlewitz.
“We are thrilled to honor Representative Aaron Michlewitz with our Legislative Achievement Award” said Jeremy Burton, Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council in a press release. “Representative Michlewitz has been a consistent and strong ally to our community and shares our vision that everyone in the Commonwealth has the right to meet their basic needs. He is a passionate and vocal proponent for vocational skills and job training in the Commonwealth and is leading efforts to ensure that the state invests in the Employment Services Program, a major priority of the Jewish Community Relations Council and our community.”
The Council recognized Michlewitz’s actions in last year’s budget debate where he led a group of legislators in successfully restoring additional funding for JCRC’s Employment Services program, a popular jobs training program located in the 3rd Suffolk District. The initiative has helped thousands of people obtain the skills they need in order to gain meaningful employment, according to the JCRC.
“I am honored to be receiving this award from such a prestigious and crucial organization,” said Representative Michlewitz. “I am proud to have such a productive relationship with the Jewish Community Relations Council and I look forward to working with them for years to come.”
The award will be given out at JCRC’s Annual Legislative Reception in the State House on Tuesday April 10th.
