Mayor Menino and Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) hosted a “Rockin’ Pool Party” at the North End’s Mirabella Pool on Sunday, July 17, 2011. There was a free cookout, swimming, games and activities. The Mayor and his wife were on hand to greet citizens from throughout the city. The Pool Parties are sponsored by The Highland Street Foundation. The first 50 kids received a free child’s size t-shirt.
The video shows scenes from the pool party and comments from the Mayor. Toward the end of the video, he also remarks on a recent survey that ranked Boston as an unfriendly city.
